Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

RCIA is the process by which new members are welcomed and formed in faith to enter the sacramental life of the Church. Sessions are held each Thursday evening from September through May beginning at 6:30pm. Childcare is provided and sponsors are always needed!

Religious Education for Children

This ministry provides faith formation for children in public schools from Kindergarten through High School. Classes meet on Sunday mornings from 9:10am -10:40am and runs August through May. Catechists and aides are needed to share the gift of faith with our next generation. Training required.

Vacation Bible School

VBS is a scripture based learning opportunity for the youth of the church, ages 4 years to 4th grade. Volunteers always needed. VBS is one week long beginning on a Monday evening in the summer and ending that Friday.

Mentor Couple

Married couples sponsor an engaged couple and share their wisdom and experience from a Christian perspective. Training required. After completing their training, a sponsor couple meets with an engaged couple for 5-6 meetings.

Life Chain

Life Chain Sunday is the first Sunday of every October on Protect Life Sunday. Volunteers stand for one hour (usually from 2:30pm -3:30pm) in front of Our Lady of Lourdes on Frederica Street holding signs and praying peacefully. Entire families, including children, are welcome.

Fully Alive Ministry

Mission statement: As disciples of Jesus Christ, we seek to form Our Lady of Lourdes as a community of mission & evangelization guided by the Holy Spirit reaching beyond the parish walls with the message of the Gospel.

FAM sponsors the Homecoming Program welcoming those Catholics that have fallen away from the Church for various reasons. This ministry serves to bring them back home.
